
The story so far...
Well the Chocolate Brown story basically started in 2007 in a little South Island town called Geraldine. The original Chocolate Factory was set up 15 years previous to this by a Swiss couple passionate about chocolate. The McClean Family purchased the little Chocolate Factory, re-branded the name to Chocolate Brown and moved the factory to Queenstown. After growing Chocolate Brown for 3 years in Queenstown, Steve and Donna McClean decided to return to their hometown, Warkworth, to expand the Chocolate Brown dream . After creatively renovating a building, which previously housed a local old school panel beaters, the factory was installed alongside the Chocolate Brown Chocolaterie and Cafeteria. Chocolate Brown is becoming well known as a top boutique chocolate producer in New Zealand.
The Factory:
The Chocolaterie hand makes its beautiful Award-Winning chocolates on site every day from the finest Gourmet Callebaut coverture & the freshest of New Zealand's real butter & cream along with many other required ingredients & decorations sourced from passionate growers, manufacturers & suppliers.
The Chocolaterie:
Home to all of the Chocolate Brown products as well as traditional British sweets, Dutch liquorice and many varieties of fresh fudge.
The Cafeteria:
With its stylish causal ambience, the Cafeteria is made intimate with the cosy fire in winter and veranda seating on warmer days. The Cafeteria is licensed and open for Brunch & Lunch daily
